The PMK 300 is a continuously operating machine for laminating, processing and transporting GRDF products (GRDF = gastro retentive dosage form). The PMK 300 is divided into 3 sections. Laminating line, buffer and conversion line and transport line. In the first section, the laminate for the GRDF product is made. The different laminates (web materials) of the product are unwound from rolls and laminated together. Three of the five webs are laminated with a roll lamination station and then welded with an ultrasonic welding system. Two additional strips are placed on top of this three-layer laminate - one on the top and one on the underside of the strip. They are glued together using a high-force pressing station. In the second section, the five-layer laminates pass a roller buffer and are fed to a spray and powder system. The upper side of the web is sprayed with isopropanol and then powdered with cellulose powder. Then do the same with the opposite side (underside of the web). The web laminate prepared in this way is advanced through a tension roller station and fed to a rotating cutting station with a vacuum wheel. The GRDF format is punched from the laminate and the GRDFs are placed on a vacuum conveyor. This conveyor belt passes a camera station for quality control and makes the products available to a picking robot. In the third section, a picking robot picks up the GRDFs with vacuum grippers and places them in transport pucks. Each puck can hold up to 16 stacked GRDFs. A puck transfer conveyor belt transports the pucks either to folding machine 1 or 2. Sections 2 and 3 of the PMK 300 can run independently of section 1 if there is material in the buffer. When the buffer is empty, section 3 can drain the filled trays and pucks until the section is empty. |
